Methodology
I’m a Black-Asian; Japanese-Diola designer and researcher with a political and creative upbringing nurtured in New York City. These days, I am living a quiet life in Aarhus, Denmark.

There are many ways to investigate our social and political realities. As a practice-led researcher, I use material inquiry, facilitation, writing, and teaching to explore how creative practitioners produce knowledge about our contemporary realities. You can see what this looks like, how I do it, and the knowledge produced from it in the full desktop version of this site.

I began formally training and studying as a designer at age 16, twenty years ago. Since then, I have been teaching, mentoring, publishing, and working as a designer across fields and industries. I hold a PhD in Design Research from Monash University’s Faculty of Art, Design & Architecture (2018–2021).
