I’m Black-Asian (Japanese-Diola) with a political and creative upbringing nurtured in New York City. These days I am living a quiet life in Aarhus, Denmark. I spend my time bouldering, sewing to fill my wardrobe, and attempting ikebana flower arrangement.
In my work life, I’m an independent researcher and designer with ten years of training and experience. My practice involves conceptual projects, critical writing, and facilitation. ︎ My vision is / for those of us contributing to the project of liberation / through conceptual and artistic means / to be supported with radical tactics, abundance, and tenderness. The collaborations I hold most dearly are with folks working towards moving softly, reflectively, and with accountability.

"How might we keep our community values tangible and live in the co-working space?"
2017
NEW INC is the first museum-led cultural incubator, founded in 2014 by the New Museum in New York City. It supports an interdisciplinary cohort of members–creative practitioners developing businesses and building projects. It's a community aiming to "foster cultural value, not just capital value." At the start of each yearly cohort, all the members of NEW INC participate in a two-week bootcamp. One of the sessions during the bootcamp is dresearch to address these questions. The research process entailed not interviews or field notes but one phase involved workshops for members who use the co-working space and in another phase of research, a series of objects and physical prompts were installed in the office to prompt members to express their day to day experiences with the community values.
