I’m Black-Asian; Japanese-Diola, with a political and creative upbringing nurtured in New York City. These days, I am living a quiet life in Aarhus, Denmark. I spend my time bouldering, sewing to fill my wardrobe, and teaching myself how to restore my old road bike.
My purpose is to equip those of us contributing to the project of liberation — through conceptual and artistic means — with sharp tactics, abundance, and tenderness. The personal connections and collaborations I hold dearly are with folks working toward moving softly and with accountability.
In my work life, I’m an independent design researcher. At age 16, nearly 20 years ago, I began training and studying as a designer. Since then, I have been teaching, mentoring, publishing, and working as a designer across fields and industries. I hold a doctorate in Design Research from Monash University’s Faculty of Art, Design & Architecture (2018–2021).
