I’m Black-Asian; Japanese-Diola, with a political and creative upbringing nurtured in New York City. These days, I am living a quiet life in Aarhus, Denmark. I spend my time bouldering, sewing to fill my wardrobe, and teaching myself how to restore my old road bike.
My purpose is to equip those of us contributing to the project of liberation — through conceptual and artistic means — with sharp tactics, abundance, and tenderness. The personal connections and collaborations I hold dearly are with folks working toward moving softly and with accountability.

In my work life, I’m an independent design researcher. My current work involves curriculum development and writing. My work is rooted at the intersection of creative practice and our socio-political realities. I have been studying, teaching, and working as a designer for nearly 20 years (since 2006). I’ve been hired internationally in contexts including cultural institutions, libraries, public health organizations, K12 education, cognitive science, tech startups, and more.
